Cal-tube much longer than the lanceolate teeth; standard obovate to orbicular; keel obtuse, shorter than the oblong wings; stamens 10, diadelphous; fr terete or compressed, transversely segmented and usually constricted between the segments, eventually breaking at the constrictions; herbs with odd-pinnate lvs of numerous lfls; fls white to pink or red, in small heads. 6, mainly Mediterranean.
