Intermediate between nos. 8 [Scutellaria lateriflora L.] and 10 [Scutellaria galericulata L.] largely sterile, but propagating vegetatively; stems slender, ascending, to 4 dm, with ascending pubescence as in no. 8; lvs lance-ovate to lance-oblong, acuminate, coarsely serrate, rounded to the truncate or subcordate base; petioles 3-10 mm; fls axillary or in elongate leafy racemes in which the bracts are progressively reduced; cor blue, somewhat upcurved, 8-12 mm; 2n=60. Moist woods; Me. to N.B., N.S., and Que., often with the parents.
