Shrub to 1.5 m; lvs lanceolate or lance-ovate, 8-15 נ2.5-5 cm, long-acuminate, sharply toothed, acute at base; infl terminal, compound, short and broad, 5-20 cm wide; pedicels and hypanthium finely pubescent; fls mostly pink, 5 mm wide; fr 2.5-3 mm; 2n=18. Native of Japan, often escaped from cult. June, July.
