SHOOTS: 10-20(-27) cm high, 3-10 mm wide at base, orange to reddish-brown.

STAMINATE FLOWERS: 2.5-3 mm in diameter.

FRUIT: 4.5-5.5 mm long.

HOSTS: mainly Pinus ponderosa, but also P. arizonica and P.engelmannii in s AZ.
