PLANTS: 10-30 cm tall, coarsely hispid.

LEAVES: generally ovate, rarely lanceolate, 7-19 mm long, tapered or a little abrupt toward the often pungent apex. 2n = 44, 45.

NOTES: See also parent taxon for further description. Crevices of rocks and cliffs; rocky n- or e-facing slopes; shady canyon bottoms. with juniper, pinyon pine, sometimes oaks: nw Mohave Co.; 1050-2300 m (3500-7600 ft); May-Aug; CA, NV, UT.
