On the crests of wooded ridges and in the post oak flats of the southwestern counties.

Lateral veins of the lf arched and anastomosing to form a continuous submarginal vein; stem with short, curved-ascending, eglandular hairs on the angles as well as the glandular ones. Chiefly southern, extending n. to L.I., W.Va., s. Ind., and Kans.
