Lvs linear-subulate, 3-6 mm, loosely erect to somewhat spreading, green, sparingly villous; pedicels 5-15 mm; frs cylindric, loosely persistent after maturity; 2n=20. On acid rocks from Me. to Nf., and locally abundant in pine barrens from N.H. to Del.; S.C. May, June.
