INFLORESCENCE: cyme, generally dense, coiled, generally 1-sided; pedicels generally short

Flowers: ± sessile; calyx lobes 4-6 mm, 6-8 mm in fruit, ± linear, densely long-hairy; corolla 6-9 mm, widely bell-shaped, blue, ± persistent in fruit, scales narrow; stamens 9-15 mm, glabrous; style 11-15 mm, glabrous

Fruit: capsule, 3-4 mm, ± ovoid, glabrous; tip puberulent to short-hairy; Seeds 1-2, 2-3 mm, wrinkled, pitted, oblong to spheric, generally brownish

Misc: Sandy to gravelly slopes, open areas; < 2000 m.; Mar-May
