The cultivated strawberry, thought to be derived from hybrids of F. virginiana and F. chiloensis Duchesne, sometimes escapes. The fr, even in wild forms, is usually more than 1.5 cm thick, and the pet are 10-15 mm; the lfls are larger and firmer than in our wild spp. and they tend to be evergreen.
