Leaves: cauline and basal, alternate; basal generally > cauline; cauline with conspicuous lateral veins, lower petioled; blades lanceolate to ovate, acute

INFLORESCENCE: cyme, panicle-like, open; bracts 0

Flowers: calyx generally deeply lobed; corolla 10-17 mm, blue, generally abruptly expanded at throat, tube ± = or > limb, often with ring of hairs below middle inside; filaments wide, generally > anthers, generally attached ± below obvious corolla appendages; style exserted 2-5 mm; anthers included

Fruit: Fruit: nutlets generally wrinkled, each attached near or below middle to convex receptacle

Misc: Streamsides, wet meadows, damp thickets, wet cliffs; 1700-3600 m.; May-Aug
