Leaves: 10-40 mm, alternate; lower ± = upper; blade generally > petiole, elliptic to oblanceolate, entire

INFLORESCENCE: pedicels 1-6 mm, lower < 25 mm in fruit; calyx lobes 3-6 mm, 7-10 mm in fruit, unequal, narrowly oblong, puberulent, stiffly ciliate; corolla 4-8 mm, rotate to bell-shaped, tube and throat white, lobes blue to violet, deciduous, scales linear; stamens 2-6 mm, short-hairy; style 2-4 mm, short-hairy

Flowers: Fruit capsule, 4-5 mm, ovoid, puberulent and appressed-short-hairy; Seeds 6-16, 1-1.5 mm, pitted, oblong to spheric, generally brownish

Fruit: Sandy to rocky slopes, chaparral, oak/pine woodland, coniferous forest
