Lvs linear or nearly filiform, 1-nerved or seldom also with a faint pair of lateral nerves, the larger ones 3-6 cm נ1-2(-3) mm, very often with axillary fascicles; rays mostly 7-11(-13) and disk-fls 3-4(5); the fls 11-15(-17) in all. Southern, ranging n. to Md. (Solidago m.; E. minor)
