Pubescent throughout; stems 3-8 dm, simple or virgately branched above; lvs numerous, erect, lanceolate to ovate, 5-15 mm, gradually reduced upwards; sep ciliate; pet 5-7 mm; stamens 20-40; styles 3(4), 1.5-2 mm; otherwise much like no. 20 [Hypericum denticulatum Walter]; 2n=12. Bogs and wet soil on the coastal plain; se. Va. to Fla. and La. June-Sept.
