Plant: perennial plant 2-4 dm, taprooted, glabrous, glaucous; stem ± 0; base fibrous

Leaves: petiole 6-10.5 cm, widely sheathing basally; blade 5-20 cm, narrowly oblong, 2-3-pinnate, leaflets 2-9 mm, linear, entire, sharp-pointed

INFLORESCENCE: umbels compound; peduncle 1-2.5 dm, slightly swollen at top; bractlets 3-8, 3-6 mm, linear, acute, scarious, entire or lobed; rays 8-15, ascending to suberect, 2-4.5 cm, subequal; pedicels 10-17 mm

Flowers: small, few; calyx lobes generally 0; corolla yellow; petals wide, yellow, white, or purple, tips narrowed; stamens 5; pistil 1, ovary inferior, 2-chambered

Fruit: Fruit: 2 dry, 1-seeded halves that separate from each other but generally remain attached for some time to a central axis, very compressed front-to-back, 9-15 mm, oblong to ± diamond-shaped; wings = or > body in width; marginal ribs widely to narrowly thin or thick-winged, others thread-like; oil tubes per rib-interval 2-3; fruit axis divided to base; Seed: face flat to concave

Misc: Rocky slopes, generally in pinyon woodland; 1500-2500 m.; May-Jun
