Stems prostrate and creeping, sending up at each node a cluster of petiolate lvs, the petioles often pubescent; blades ovate to broadly oblong, 1-6 cm, obtuse, entire or repand, truncate to shallowly cordate at base; peduncles 1-3, 1-10 cm; fr flat-ellipsoid, 3-5 mm wide. Marshes and wet soil along the coast; s. N.J. and Del. to Fla. and Tex.; trop. Amer. Summer. (C. asiatica, misapplied; C. repanda)
