Leaves: mostly ovate to suborbicular; petiole 1-6 cm long; blade 1-7 cm long, 0.5-6 cm wide; margin coarsely toothed, not lobed; uppermost leaves sessile, cordate-clasping

INFLORESCENCE: cymose

Flowers: showy; calyx lobes lanceolate, 1.5-2 cm long; corolla basally connate, funnelform, 2-5.5 cm long, white to cream, the tube 2-4 mm long; stamens basally adnate to petals, included, the filaments 1.5-2.5 cm long; style included, slightly exceeding stamens

Fruit: CAPSULES erect, to 2 cm long excluding calyx lobes; SEEDS numerous, 0.5-1.5 mm long, parietal; testa longitudinally striate; endosperm lacking

Misc: in crevices of rock faces or on very steep rocky slopes; 200-1200 m (600-4000 ft); Feb-Jun
