Astragalus cobrensis is a spreading perennial with pinnately compound leaves with usually at least some leaflets emarginate. The corolla is pinkish with purple makings. The pods are hairy and somewhat inflated. The calyx hairs are black or dark brown, an excellent field mark. Astragalus cobrensis is found in dry areas at middle elevation.
