Sep (at least the outer) blunt; pet white, equal, slightly longer to twice as long as the sep, with narrow claw and obovate, retuse blade; short stamens separated by a pair of minute glands; a minute gland also between each pair of long stamens; seeds 1 per locule; style evident, 1-2 mm, with a capitate stigma; fr an indehiscent silicle, subglobose and evidently inflated to somewhat flattened contrary to the partition, the base obtuse to rounded or cordate, the summit acutish to rounded or truncate, only rarely emarginate; cotyledons incumbent, the back of one against the radicle; perennial herbs, glabrous to canescent with short, simple hairs, the lvs entire or merely toothed; x=8. 3, Eurasia.
