Stems sparsely tomentulose or glabrous. Leaves mostly basal (cauline much smaller); blades rounded-deltate to ovate, 5-12 × 3-7 cm, coarsely toothed. Ray florets 16-21; laminae 20-30+ mm. Cypselae ± quadrate, 4-5.5 mm; pappi of 20-30, obovate to spatulate scales 1-2 mm. 2n = 34.

Flowering mostly spring-summer. Sandy soils; 0-100 m; Tex.

Tetragonotheca repanda is known from the Gulf Coastal Plain.
