Leaves slightly shorter than scape; blade pale green. Umbels 2-5-flowered.

Flowering late winter--autumn (all year in Fla.). Swamps, marshes, stream banks; 0--100 m; Ala., Fla., Ga., La., Miss., S.C., Tex.

Variety americanum is the most widespread and abundant Crinum in the United States. It is quite variable, particularly in the size of floral parts and width of leaves.
