Flowers 14-18 per inflorescence, 6.5-10 mm. Fruits 8-12 Ă— 6-14 mm; wings truncate, poorly to moderately developed, if developed, tapering to fruit apex.

Flowering year-round. Sandy soils, coastal scrub, lees of dunes near strand; 0-100 m; Calif., Oreg.

Abronia umbellata var. breviflora is in the Center for Plant Conservation´s National Collection of Endangered Plants.
