A slender lax plant from N.B., N.S., and P.E.I., differs from no. 16 [Aster lateriflorus (L.) Britton] in its delicately open-paniculate infl, with not at all secund branches, and often larger heads, the invol to 6.5 mm. It is perhaps better subordinated to A. lateriflorus as var. tenuipes Wiegand.
