Cal regular, with 10 or more strong nerves, the lobes short and broadly triangular to linear; cor strongly 2-lipped, the tube about equaling the cal, the upper lip subgaleately rounded, hairy, the lower lip about as long as the upper, with prominent lateral lobes; stamens 4, ascending under the upper lip, the lower pair the longer; anthers glabrous; nutlets clavate, glabrous; perennial herbs or shrubs with pink or purple (white) fls in loose, short-peduncled cymes from the axils of the reduced upper lvs. 35, Eur., Medit., w.
