Shrub 2-4 m; lfls 7-13, oval to obovate, 1.5-2.5 cm; fls 2-8 in the raceme, yellow marked with red, 2 cm; fr membranous, ovoid or fusiform, 5-8 נ3 cm, indehiscent; 2n=16. Native of the Mediterranean region, rarely escaped from cult. in our range.
