Glabrous perennial 1-3 dm with numerous prostrate or spreading, diffusely branched stems; lvs linear to very narrowly elliptic, 1-3 cm נ1-3 mm, narrowed to a sessile or very shortly petiolar base; fls subsessile in small axillary or terminal glomerules (or solitary); sep narrowly lanceolate, long-acuminate, 1 mm; cor, fr, and seeds as in no. 9 [Hedyotis uniflora (L.) Lam.], but the fr mostly glabrous or merely verrucose; 2n=36. Wet soil of the coastal plain; se. Va. to Fla. and Tex. (Oldenlandia b.)
