This species was found first by Blatchley in 1890 in Vigo County on a sandy hillside northeast of the Seventh Street Bridge across Lost Creek. I found it in 1930 in three sandy, fallow fields in Starke County, three miles north and one and a half miles east of North Judson. I also found a colony in this vicinity in an open, sandy woods. It is probably established here. It was found in 1925 in Vigo County in a pasture north of Terre Haute by A. R. Bechtel.
