Glabrous, 3-10 dm, simple; lower lvs elliptic-oblong to rarely ovate, to 10 נ3 cm, glaucous-green beneath, denticulate or repand, narrowed to a petiole, the upper smaller, sessile or nearly so; racemes elongate, the lowest fl well above the uppermost lf; bracts lance- linear, 5-15 mm, glandular-denticulate; pedicels 2-4 mm, bibracteolate at base; fls 2-2.5 cm, blue, fenestrate, the lower lip glabrous; sep linear, 5-8 mm, glandular-denticulate; auricles minute or none; 2n=14. Wet soil; s. Va. to w. N.C., s. to Fla. and Miss. July-Nov. (L. amoena var. glandulifera)
