Like a larger version of no. 6; [Lycopodium inundatum L.] lvs 5-8 נ1-1.2 mm, sparingly toothed; fertile stems 1-3.5 dm, 1.5-5 mm thick, with appressed lvs; cones slender, 2.5-7.5+ cm, 3-8 mm thick, with ascending to appressed sporophylls; 2n=156. Acid soil of bogs, shores, and meadows; mainly on the coastal plain from se. N.H. to Fla. and Tex. and up the Mississippi embayment to w. Ky.; irregularly disjunct in the mts. of N.C. and Tenn. and in sw. Mich. (L. inundatum var. bigelovii)
