Leaves: typically deeply 3-lobed, the lobes narrowly linear, remotely serrate to subentire, often with purplish blotch along midvein

INFLORESCENCE: flowers axillary or forming a terminal raceme

Flowers: calyx ca. 5 mm. long; petals subequal to calyx, bluish purple; staminal column ca. 2 mm long, glabrous or nearly so; styles 10-11.

Fruit: FRUITS a schizocarp, oblate, stellate-pubescent, 6-7 mm diameter; mericarps 10-11, dorsally rounded (spur completely absent); SEEDS enclosed in reticulate endocarp 2.5 mm long
