A frequently planted hybrid between no. 9 [Populus deltoides Marshall] and the columnar form of no. 7, commonly with a crown of intermediate shape, the lvs also intermediate, usually without basal glands; floral disk 2-3.5 mm wide; capsules 2-3-valved, with 6-11 seeds per placenta; 2n=38. (P. إugenei; P. canadensis var. eugenei, the staminate clone most frequently distributed as Carolina poplar)
