Leaves: intermediate of parents, rather sharply pointed with a small abrupt tip (mucro) like that of Quercus muhlenbergii, pale and finely hairy beneath.

Similar species: Quercus x deamii is a hybrid of Quercus alba and Quercus muhlenbergii. The attributes of the hybrid tend to be intermediate of the parents. See links below for further information on the parents.
