Fls 4-5-merous; cal deeply parted into narrow lobes about equaling the cor; cor rotate, deeply parted, each lobe bearing near the base a pair of small nectariferous appendages; stamens on the short cor-tube; style none, the 2 stigmas decurrent along the sides of the narrowly ovoid ovary; narrow-lvd annuals with conspicuous blue or white fls terminating the stem and pediceled from the upper axils, forming a racemiform infl. 15, boreal.
