STEMS: to 1.5 m long.

LEAVES: 5-25 mm long, linear to triangular, glandular.

FLOWERS: 7-10 mm long; stamens in 1 series.

FRUITS: irregularly circumscissile below middle.

NOTES: 3 spp., w AZ, s CA, and nw Mex. (Greek: Pholis = scale, for the scaly stem).
